If you're attaching your shelf directly to the studs, skip the wall anchor step and use an electric drill and screws to secure your internal shelf bracket to the studs.
After you've secured your bracket to the wall, slip the shelf's outer support bracket over the inner support bracket and stand back to admire your work.
